H2S Detector Calibration
NIST-traceable H2S in nitrogen mixtures support calibration of portable and fixed gas detectors used in sour gas, refinery, pipeline, confined space, and petrochemical safety monitoring programs.
Keep gas detectors accurate and safety programs inspection-ready with certified H2S calibration gas mixtures from SpecGas Inc. Built for industrial hygiene, confined space entry, oil and gas monitoring, and bump testing, our mixtures are NIST traceable, blended in-house, and supported by proprietary cylinder treatment for stable reactive gas performance.

Certified H2S gas mixtures for detector calibration, bump testing, field use, and industrial safety monitoring programs.
NIST-traceable H2S in nitrogen mixtures support calibration of portable and fixed gas detectors used in sour gas, refinery, pipeline, confined space, and petrochemical safety monitoring programs.
Calibration gases for daily and pre-shift bump testing help verify detector response before personnel enter hazardous atmospheres, supporting OSHA, NIOSH, and ANSI/ISA workplace safety practices.
Portable disposable cylinders from 17 to 103 liters are ideal for field calibration crews, overseas shipments, low-frequency detector checks, and bump-test stations using standard CGA outlets.
H2S is a reactive gas, so calibration accuracy depends on the right blending methods, cylinder preparation, and documentation. SpecGas Inc. manufactures H2S calibration gas mixtures in-house using proprietary gravimetric techniques and treated cylinders designed for stability. Each mixture can support detector calibration, bump testing, EHS documentation, and industrial safety programs requiring reliable response verification.

President / Founder
Alfred Boehm founded SpecGas Inc. in 2001 after building a long career in specialty gases that began in Germany in 1976. He advanced into director-level roles at Messer Griesheims Industries and later moved to the United States in 1991 to continue research and development in specialty gas applications. His background includes deep work in reactive gas mixtures and internal cylinder treatment methods, knowledge that shaped SpecGas's proprietary blending approach. Alfred's technical leadership has helped the company become a trusted source for precise, stable, and difficult-to-produce gas mixtures used across research, calibration, and advanced industrial applications. His experience remains central to the company's quality standards and problem-solving capabilities.

Operations Manager
Marco Boehm oversees operations at SpecGas Inc., helping ensure customers receive responsive service, dependable delivery, and carefully managed production support. As part of the family leadership team, he plays an important role in translating the company's technical strengths into efficient day-to-day execution. Marco supports scheduling, coordination, and operational oversight for custom specialty gas orders, helping research labs, distributors, and industrial clients stay on timeline. His involvement reinforces the company's family-run approach, where attention to detail and customer responsiveness remain priorities. By combining operational discipline with SpecGas's established blending expertise, Marco helps maintain the consistency and service standards customers rely on for specialized gas mixtures and urgent project requirements.
The calibration gas must match the detector or analyzer being verified. For H2S instruments, a known concentration of hydrogen sulfide, commonly balanced in nitrogen or another inert gas, is used. Multi-gas monitors may require blends that include H2S, CO, O2, and combustible gas. SpecGas Inc. supplies NIST-traceable mixtures with documentation for calibration and bump testing records.
